New Project

Well, Stephen and I have come up with a new way to get attention, I can't talk about it, yet, I will later, but it's going to be a lot of fun for us, and we hope be able to lead us to attracting some investors to help fund my movie, or if we are really lucky, the attention of a real producer and we can go from there.

We shall se, this project will take 2-3 months to mature, it's worth it though.

How can I get my screenplay into the hands of.. ANYONE?

I have sent out about 30 query letters now, one response back, looks automated saying "Here sign this, send us your script, if we like it we'll call you"

And that's it.

So what's the best way to, as a no name, nobody who wants to get a somebody to read my screen play?

It's a thriller, it's not high budget, it's got a good story as a biased source such as myself would say...

What now?

I'm working on my next screenplay and some other projects, but it's frustrating not knowing what to do with a finished product.

Update!

Well, he had no luck with the first try, he submitted on 01Mar07, got a page saying within 2 days his "entry" would be up.

Yesterday, 06Mar07 he sent them an email asking what the status was, they claim to show no payment made.

Here is the response:

Now if you click that link, it's back to the "click her to pay page. He's paranoid, I told him it was because he had his wife use her card to pay. Am I being to easy or is his paranoia justified?

Anyone heard of these folks? Are they legit? Are they a Scam?

I can't find anything either which way, on one hand they LOOK legit, feel legit... on the other, scams are everywhere, and I hate scammers.

So if you know something could ya let me know? I got a bud thinking of using them cause he has the "ultimate reality tv idea" and he asked me, and I just don't know.

Interesting

My very good friend, and director in waiting as I like to say, has presented me with what looks like a real chance for us to actually get a project off the ground and running. A no kidding production company here in Texas, financed by an oil man... he will meet with the gentleman and pitch a few ideas and scripts we have and see what happens.

About to start new screenplay.

My first screenplay, my little pride and joy, took 18 months of off and on writing and lots of "Okay, that doesn't work at all".

It started as a short story idea, that rolled into a screenplay thanks to the website www.scriptbuddy.com which taught me how to format a screenplay and I wrote it from the seat of my pants. Lot's of revisions later it's going out to 3-4 screenplay contests this year. We shall see what happens.

Now, I am starting my next screenplay, this one I have been sitting on, letting it formulate, burn in my head before I start it. Unlike last time, I am going to write a good outline, with notes and all the goodies so I can get this thing tagged perfectly. I know how it will start, how it will mostly flow and the ending. All seared in my head, I mean, I can SEE the scenes as they play out... now it's just putting thought to paper as it were.

I'm new to this, so feel free to pop in with sagely advice, or whatever.

What am I doing aside writing on a web blog to make my dreams come true you ask?
Well, for one I've got two or three script contests pegged and am hoping my $40 dollars or so per submission isn't just wasted time.

And I'm trying to figure out how to "query" agents in hopes one will bother to read my screenplay and see how great it is!

Okay, I hope they see it my way, cause, it's good and my next one is better. I swear.
