I recently discovered this book by Chris Kenworthy called 100 Great Home Movie Techniques and after reading through it at the book store I thought that I must have it but it is mega expensive! But my dear brother in Canada will try find ot over there for me cheaper and send it over! I have to have that book! It shows you how to make an ordinary home movie look professional by adding effects, etc! Anyone who owns this book please comment on it.

LAst year during school, we had a project: We had to take a chapter or two out of a pathetic book called "Pig heart Boy" and act it out in front of the class. Now I convinced my group that we could make it into a film and after recently discovering windows movie maker I thought that it would turn out brilliantly. I adapted two chapters from the book, assigned the cast and crew with one small digital camera and we shot the film in an old friend of mine's house and in his neighbourhood for establishing shots. I put the film together on Movie Maker and edited it, adding titles, music, etc. It took forever to edit and was sometimes stressful but a lot of fun and from then on I thought "This is what I want to do for the rest of my life!" Honestly, the acting was lame, the pace terrible, the sound just as bad and it just wasn't that interesting. After all, it was based on a horrendously boring book and I was working with amatuers who were my class mates and we had one little digital camera with video compatibility! But nonetheless it was fun. My group got full marks! Everyone who watched the film loved it because it seemed so professional with Windows Movie Maker. I had so much fun doing the title credits, scene transitions and end credits! People loved it! I'm really looking forward to doing this with my script one day. I thought that it could be performed by my drama class but I'm not so sure anymore as it might require proffessional acting ability and plenty of effects which we don't have :'(

Hello everyone! I am Adam Singer, 14 year old male and aspiring filmmaker. Yeah, yeah I know I'm pretty young but I've wanted to make movies ever since I was about 5 years old! And now at 14, I have a much more clear understanding of the business. I have plenty of film ideas that I haven't put into script format as I am currently working on something that started out as a short 30 minute movie and which might turn into a 2 hour +- film! From little ideas I collected over a few weeks, the film just expanded and expanded with me doing rewrite after rewrite! I am basically starting again. I'm building up my character's personalities at the moment before I start the actual script. The genre is black comedy so if anyone likes, they can give me ideas about hilariously grim deaths I could incorporate into the script.
