Finding the Muse

I always wonder what it will be like if I fell in love -- finally. I've never been truly in love. I've dedicated my life to writing, and though there are little signs of success currently, I still write with a mad determination. This has killed any relationships I might have had. Recently, I realised I was getting to thirty, and had never experienced what they call 'love'. So I enrolled for a weekend class, hoping to meet someone. It's three weekends now, and I haven't seen her yet, if you get what I mean. I get scared sometimes, for if  I get a girlfriend, won't she take up all my evening hours? That's the only time I have for reading and writing, and some of these people can make you feel like you should never be alone.

False Love Works as a Muse

I've noticed that I'm a better writer when I'm involved in a relationship. I think it has to do with the way a male's mind is designed, i.e., thinking of a female body most of the time. When I'm involved in a relationship the ideas and motivation flow more frequently.

I enjoy having women as a muse. Just yesterday, I told this girl I've been dating that I need some inspiration so I could finish editing my current script. I told her to come over and watch Motorcycle Diaries with me. I also got a six pack of Corona and with her warm, sexy, puerto rican body next to me while the protagonist journeyed through his soul, I couldn't help but subconsiously fill my mental mind with the most expensive, priceless gas: a wonderful, hot, beautiful soul, puerto rican female.

So love, or fake love helps any writer. I think Bob Dylan once said that as a writer, he can't help but fall in love because that's where life starts and ends. (I added "because that's where life starts and ends).
