The road to screenwritting

Posted on 2007-Feb-9 at 06:16

Am just struggling down the road of screenwritting, pretty broad and full of endless ideas, my pen as a walking cane in hand, probing into all obstacles. I feel i can see the road ahead but before i regain back my  vision, i think i'll need all the guidance i can get from all the good screenwritters out there.

How and where do i start telling these good stories into scripts?

Paul Marving

I have been away for a while. Just like i mentioned earlier, it's a long way, the screanwritting way. I took it and i've been away looking for new materials, ideas, stories and motivation. I have my Spec ready and am hoping to have it read soon. Who knows, i might soon receicve that exciting phone call and find myself in a Pitching room. Then i will say, Well Done Lone guy, You did this time.

But i will make sure my work appear here because i would like other people to read it, correct me, teach or even comment if i won't need any of those.

I have been reading many important informations about screanwritting and am sure they have helped me alot in finding the rethym, style and in structuring my work. I would say thank to the people who contribute to that, their informations means alot to the screanwriter who have never have their work produced or even read for that matter. It's a great preledge to have those kind of people with that much generocity because i'am sure and i know many people will agree with me but Writing is not always that fun or easy.

Am  now toiling up with a foreign script. I mean, it has alot of foreign language in it's dialohue and am facing much doubts on deciding whether i do it all in English and add PARENTHETICALS or i just write it in that language anyway and worry about translating later. That i have to find out myself, i have enough time, since the spec is still on it's analyzing  phase.

I think I have the same problem as you. I have tons of ideas that can be turned into scripts. The only problem is, is that I don’t have any contacts in the screenwriting/film business. My best guess is to just pray and hopefully over time you’ll turn those ideas into movies or you may find someone that will help you.

I’ve seen a couple websites that have workshops about you giving them your idea and they help you turn it into a movie. This is the site right here:

Here’s a site where you can learn how to do screenwriting: http://www.screenplay.com/
