2006-Sep-6 - WOW - My anti-productivity.

Okay, I don't know if any of the rest of you writers have played or are interested in these things they call MMORPG's or Massivly Multi-Player Online Roleplaying Games, such as World of Warcraft... but I did, and still kind of do.

And it killed my productivity. I recently had a sutiation where my friends joined a 'guild', a group of hard core serious gamer geeks, and I didn't qualify to join, so now I rarely get to see them in the game. But the good news is, since I couldn't join up with my pals last night I got a serious bump of writting done. :)

Moral of the story, videogames bad, writting good. :)

2006-Jun-19 - Todays Log:The Other Me.

The Other Me: A man comes to realize he is living two lives in alternate realities, each time he sleeps in one he wakes in the other. In order to save his sanity he must die in one of his lives so that he can live a full life in the other.

Thoughts:

Other than the obvious supernatural nature of the main concept both worlds would be completely reality based, not science fiction or fantasy type of settings. But perhaps they would take place in different times, so one reality was a period piece.

One of the realities would take place in a modern setting where the main character would start the story out on medication for his narcolepsy. He would stop taking them counter to doctors directions, and that lack of medication would be what allows him to begin to remember his alternate life.

Initially he would believe that the alternate life was no more than a series of vivid dreams. But eventually he will come to believe otherwise. He will find he has knowledge he does not think he could have if he the alternate life was all in his head.
