Hello Fellow Moviemakers,

   I am Andrea D. Winn, screenwriter, producer, and head of Ripple Effect Productions.  I just finished my first short film called Steel & Fire that will be in the Maine International Film Festival in July.

   Making my first professional film was an experience that was exciting and terrifying at the same time.  From the leading man and half the extras pulling out the day before principle photography which caused much hair pulling to finding a better and more skilled leading man thanks to the leading lady, I wouldn't trade it for the world.  It simple made me hungry for more and more and more.

   I am making movies in Maine and that is where Ripple Effect is based.  My goal is to create an atmosphere like we had here at the turn of the last century.  All the greats from Broadway flocked here in the summer to escape the horrible heat of the NYC.  Maine was the place to be for Summer Stock Theater.  That era has passed but what if I did the same thing with film.  Hollywood names coming to Maine to make a film and have a vacation, too.  We have got everything we need here from the beautiful settings to the entertainment lawyer.  The only thing we lack is the star to sell the flick.  Ripple Effect will change that.

   At my core is the belief that now is the time not to compete with Hollywood but to carve out our own market for a content hungry world.  We are making high quality, low budget, digital entertainment.  Who doesn't love the longshot?
