I strongly feel that felons are treated unfairly when applying for a job to getting accepted at an apartment complex. My wife and I earn 80k a year and can't get accepted for an apartment in a safe environment for my son to grow up in because most management companies I have encountered don't allow convicted felons to live on their property. My convictions are over 6 years old. I have completed all requirements of my parole and have been a free man for 2 and a half years. I don't smoke,do drugs, or even drink for that matter and yet because I have this jacket over me my family is punished. Not cool. What is the point of rehabilitation if society is not willing to accept you once you have complied to all the terms that society has requested you to complete as part of your consequence.
